This is part three of a three-part series on the relationship between crowdfunding and the funeral industry. To read part one, click here. To read part two, click here.

In our two previous blogs on crowdfunding, we explained the trend of using crowdfunding to pay for funerals and other end-of-life expenses. Right now, there are nearly 70,000 crowdfunding campaigns for funerals on a variety of third-party crowdfunding sites.

The problem with crowdfunding is that while many families raise enough funds to cover funeral expenses, that money doesn’t always end up going toward those expenses. Sometimes it gets used to cover medical expenses, any debts the loved one had, and in rare cases, it goes directly into the pockets of family members.

That’s why Frazer Consultants is proud to introduce the only crowdfunding platform for funeral homes.

Giving Funeral Homes Back the Control

Our crowdfunding platform is fully integrated with Tribute Pay, allowing you complete control over any donations made. Money raised is deposited directly into your account just like any other Tribute Pay transaction, and at the end of the campaign you get to cut a check to your families for any additional funds raised.

Through Tribute Pay, you have complete control over how long the campaign lasts and the monetary goals of the campaign. You can work with your families to set goals and time frames, or even leave crowdfunding out of the picture if the family does not need or want a campaign.

Easy for Families to Use

Crowdfunding is integrated into the Tribute Walls on your website’s obituaries if your family decides to use the function. By simply activating crowdfunding using your admin login, a “Donate Now” button will appear on the obituary along with the options to send flowers, share a memory, or watch a Tribute Video.

Family members and friends simply click the button, decide how much they want to contribute and whether or not they want to leave a message or remain anonymous, and then enter their payment information. It works just like any other crowdfunding site, but having it all in one place means more traffic to your website and less hassle for your families.

Social Integration and Increased Website Traffic

When someone uses the crowdfunding function, they are given the opportunity to share their donation on their social media sites and ask their friends and family to help by contributing. Those who see it and decide to donate as well are sent directly to your site, increasing your organic traffic and allowing them to see all the other options they have to honor the deceased, such as leaving photos and memories or buying flowers.

Everything Your Families Need, In One Place

When your families choose to use crowdfunding on your site, there are a lot of benefits that come with it. For starters, anyone who donates will input their address, allowing you to give the family the addresses they need to send thank-you cards when the campaign concludes.

The families also can set goals for what they want to raise above and beyond any funeral expenses, just like many do with other crowdfunding sites. They can use this additional money for anything they need, such as medical and other costs often associated with the end-of-life care of a loved one.

The only difference is that your funeral home gets to cut the check for them, instead of another website service.

Fewer Fees

Frazer Consultants retains a smaller percentage fee than any of our competitors, allowing both you and your families to keep more of the money raised. Make sure the money your families are raising goes where it matters.
