Virginia Funeral Home Establishes Grief Program

Bradley’s Funeral Home is celebrating their 20-year anniversary by establishing a new grief counseling program. The program is titled “Anew: Grief and Loss Recovery Program,” and it’s designed to provide support for community members during the bereavement process.

Illinois Funeral Home Raising Awareness

Glueckert Funeral Home is raising awareness for Opioid Awareness Day/Week. The funeral home will participate in International Overdose Awareness Day on August 31. They also are sponsoring events all week long, including Naloxone administering training events, hosting a candlelight memorial vigil, and the staff will decorate their funeral home in 2,155 purple overdose awareness ribbons during the week. The number 2,155 represents the lives that the Illinois Department of Public Health projects will be lost this year to accidental overdose.

Local Funeral Homes Host Memorial Book Signings

Virginia area funeral homes hosted memorial book signings for the late singer Aretha Franklin. The book signing presented an opportunity for community members to share condolences along with their favorite memories of Franklin.
