Crowdfunding is a major help to families who are faced with an unexpected loss or just don’t have the funds. They want the best possible funeral service for their loved one, but may struggle to pay all the necessary expenses.

However, many funeral homes don’t realize that they can be doing so much more with their crowdfunding campaigns. Your client families’ crowdfunding success stories can promote this feature for your funeral home and inspire community togetherness.

Below is one funeral home’s Tribute Crowdfunding success story.

Tribute Crowdfunding Success Story

Dahl Funeral and Cremation Service in Bozeman, Montana is using Tribute Crowdfunding to help a family pay for their nine-year-old daughter’s funeral. Juliana Currie Lein died in a tragic hiking accident after falling into a creek on May 28th, 2017. So far, the campaign has already raised more than $7,000 of the $20,000 goal. This truly shows the difference it makes when a community comes together to help their neighbors in need.

The funeral home is even donating at least $1,000 of their own funds to the campaign. Any funds that are raised above the goal will go to the Lein family.

This is the perfect example of how Tribute Pay’s crowdfunding feature can do so much more than give a loved one the funeral they deserve. It can bring communities together in times of tragedy and let them show their support.

Crowdfunding success stories like this one are a goal many funeral homes and communities hope to achieve. So what can your funeral home do to take your crowdfunding to the next level? We’ll walk you through tips and benefits in the next section.

Take Crowdfunding to the Next Level

When a crowdfunding campaign is successful, your funeral home should use this as a real-life example of its benefits. It’s a unique feature that makes your funeral home stand out from the competition. Plus, it’s a simple way to bring the community together during a challenging time and show you care.

Writing a blog post about its success provides an excellent marketing and competitive advantage for your funeral home. Or, reach out to your local newspaper with a press release about the crowdfunding campaign’s success.

Not only does this help promote the feature for your funeral home, it brings more traffic to your funeral home’s website. You even can share your blog post or news article link to your social media to gain even more exposure.

For example, Dahl Funeral and Cremation Service shares their obituaries, upcoming events, and other informational posts to their Facebook Page. This helps spread the word about someone’s passing and the option to donate, if applicable, to help their family.

Your funeral home also can consider helping pay for funerals in special situations, like an unexpected death of a child. It could go toward the funeral itself or the cost for family members to travel and stay for the funeral.

This truly shows your community that families are your top priority and that you’re willing to help in any way possible. Most importantly, it helps families honor their loved one with the funeral they deserve.

Reaching out to the local newspaper would actually be a pretty good way to get your funeral home noticed when crowdfunding. There’s just something about looking at a newspaper that the younger generations just don’t seem to get. It would probably be pretty beneficial if you are trying to target the older generation to do something in the newspaper.
