National Library Week runs from April 7-13 this year. This week celebrates the role libraries and librarians play in our community. This year’s theme is Libraries = Strong Communities. Here at Frazer Consultants, we definitely agree with this theme. Reading has created a special bond and sense of community among our staff.

Our team members are always talking about their favorite books, lending them to each other, and reading during their lunch breaks. Our Social Media and Video Specialist Sam Giedris even has a mini library of her favorite books on her desk!

To celebrate National Library Week, we are sharing some of our staff’s favorite books. We hope you’re inspired to read some of these titles!

Our Staff’s Favorite Books

Personally, I love reading dark mysteries. One of my favorite books is Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn. I have never read a more suspenseful book before. All the twists and turns kept me hooked until the last page! Now check out some of my coworkers’ favorite books below.

Leah, Project Coordinator — The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz

“It is full of classic wisdom that stands the test of time. I have read it several times and always find a few ideas to apply to my life.”

Jenny, Senior Content Specialist — Tell No One by Harlan Coben

“I read this book for a mystery lit class in high school and have been hooked on his mystery novels ever since!”

Heather, Production Manager — The Martian by Andy Weir

“While this book can be heavy on scientific explanations, Weir writes in a way that doesn’t make you feel like you’ve missed the point if you aren’t a rocket scientist. There were times I was literally laughing out loud at the quick wit and sarcasm of the main character, and the ups and downs of his trials had me finishing this book in a matter of days. Definitely worth the read even if you’ve already seen the movie.”

Ashley, Marketing Designer — Night Flying by Rita Murphy

“A short and sweet coming-of-age story with the perfect amount of magic realism.”

Sam, Social Media and Video Specialist — The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas

“I hadn’t planned on finishing this book in one sitting, but I was immediately hooked by Starr’s story and her incredibly clear point of view and didn’t put it down until I had read it all. Bonus: even though the book is more nuanced — the movie is one of the best book-to-movie adaptations I’ve ever seen!”

Nico, Customer Support — Timeline by Michael Crichton

“It’s one of the only books that I can sit down and read cover-to-cover again and again. The book combines action and technology and touches on quantum theory. Time seriously flies when I open it up.”

Michael, IT Support Specialist — The Rainmaker by John Grisham

“It’s been my favorite for many years because no matter how small the character felt in regard to the large firm or how impossible it seemed, with hard work and a never-say-die attitude, the impossible can be made manifest, and it was.”

Jenny, Video Production — The Mistborn series by Brandon Sanderson

“The Mistborn trilogy is full of unforgettable characters and includes the most creative magic system of any fantasy I’ve read. It’s full of twists and surprises that will keep you guessing till the very end!”

Disclaimer: Many of our team members had a very difficult time picking just one title. It just goes to show how much we love reading!
