Hi, I’m Samantha Ward, and I’m the marketing manager here at Frazer Consultants. You may have noticed that online videos have become increasingly popular among internet users. But don’t just take my word for it. Experts estimate that by 2019, 80% of internet traffic will be video. With video making up most internet traffic, it’s important for your funeral home to take advantage of video marketing to stay relevant.

Video marketing can also help your funeral home with social media engagement, website traffic, and building trust with the families you serve. If you’re new to video marketing, don’t worry. It doesn’t have to be complex or fancy. Simply using your smartphone can go a long way.

If you’re a beginner, the best place to start is with the video function programmed into the camera on your phone. When shooting a video, it’s also important to keep sound and lighting in mind. Pick a location that has a bright, soft lighting source, like a window. A quiet spot away from office or entrances is the best place to do your videos. And if your location has sort of an echo going on, just place pillows or blankets around to absorb the sound. Once you get the hang of shooting a video on your smartphone, you can use a free app like Quik or Videorama to edit your videos.
