Fall is officially here, and soon the leaves will be changing and pumpkins will abound.
With how beautiful the foliage is during this time of year, there is so much you can do to incorporate the season into a beautiful service for loved ones. This is especially true if your loved one enjoyed the autumn season.
If you’re planning a fall-themed service, here are a few ideas you can incorporate:
Pumpkins, Squash, and Other Gourds
Nothing says fall quite like a nice orange pumpkin. Consider visiting your local pumpkin patch to get various sizes of pumpkins to arrange along with the funeral flowers.
If you want more variety, consider using other types of squash in different colors, shapes, and sizes. If the deceased loved Halloween, perhaps you can even carve a pumpkin into a memorial jack-o-lantern with their name.
Fall Leaves
While you might want to avoid bringing in a bunch of leaves from the ground, you can order fake leaves to sprinkle around the funeral or wreaths to place throughout the room. What’s autumn without any beautiful leaves?
Hay Bales
This might be a bit more difficult to pull off because of sheer size, but hay bales are usually pretty inexpensive and are a big element of fall. Hay is used for all kinds of fall activities, such as hayrides.
In a funeral setting, a bale of hay could display photos or keepsakes of the deceased.
Warm Colors
If you want a fall theme without going too far, you can always incorporate warm fall colors into your décor. Reds, oranges, yellows, and browns are all good options for tablecloths, floral arrangements, and more.
Pine Cones and Acorns
Pine cones and acorns are another great option you can incorporate into decorations and displays. Consider placing baskets of them around the room, or scattering them around the base of floral arrangements.
