Hi, I’m Samantha Ward, and I’m the marketing manager here at Frazer Consultants. A responsive website design essentially means that your website responds to whatever device it’s on. Whether that’s a desktop or a mobile device like a smartphone or a tablet.

And it’s not just the beauty of the website, it really comes down to functionality as well. People should be able to read your content really easily, and they should be able to navigate your website without having to scroll and pinch too much. So search engines like Google and Bing really want to make sure that their users have a good experience on their mobile devices, and because of this, they rank any website that is mobile friendly above websites that are not. And so that’s really why responsive design is so important for SEO.

It’s really important for funeral homes to have responsive obituaries, because when people are visiting your funeral home’s website, more often than not, they’re visiting to see an obituary of a loved one. Somewhere around 80% of your website traffic on your funeral home is coming just to your obituaries. And of that, 60% is coming from mobile devices, which is why it’s so important to consider having responsive design.
