Hi, I’m Sam Giedris the social media and video specialist here at Frazer. And today I’m going to talk to you about social media algorithms, and how to make sure your content gets seen.
Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn all have algorithms that determine where your posts appear in a user’s feed. They all have slightly different aspects to their algorithms, but the main theme for each of them is that they want users to see posts from their friends and family first, followed by other content that they deem “relevant.”
So, how can you make sure your followers and community see your posts if the algorithm is prioritizing friends and family, not businesses? First, you can engage with your followers more. And second, you can promote posts that you want to be seen by a larger audience.
Engaging with your followers more often is an organic way to make sure that your posts are seen. A good place to start is creating posts that ask questions. When your followers respond to your questions, you should like and respond to their comments. By engaging with people on your posts, the algorithm will think you know each other and should prioritize your content in their feed.
If people aren’t engaging with your content, or if you want to reach a broader audience, you can promote or sponsor your posts. For just a few dollars, your posts can be seen by hundreds or even thousands of people in your community.
With a careful combination of engaging with your followers and promoting posts when you can, you can outsmart the algorithm and have your content seen by more people. And if you’re looking for content to post on your social media channels, our social media kits have you covered! They include relevant and engaging content for you to share with your community.
