Since the Victorian era, massive funerals for notable figures have become more common. For instance, the Duke of Wellington’s funeral required 12 black horses and 10,000 marchers and 1.5 million people were in the audience. Another notable example is Princess Diana’s funeral, drawing in a crowd of more than one million people to the streets of London.
