Having a Facebook Page for your funeral home is a great way to reach your community. Unfortunately, with algorithm changes, organic posts only reach about 5% of your followers. So, without a paid strategy, you could be missing out.

As the Social Media and Video Specialist here at Frazer, I understand how frustrating this can be. But I want to go over some of the best advice from our Social Media Ad Strategy eBook so that you can learn how to get started with Facebook ads.

On Facebook, you can boost existing posts and events, or create ad campaigns. Boosting posts is an effective way to get more clicks on existing content, but ad campaigns allow for more customization.

If your funeral home wants to run an ad campaign, you’re most likely to benefit from an awareness or consideration objective. Within those objectives, you’ll have options like building brand awareness, sending more people to your website, or gathering leads.

Once you have your objective picked, you’ll need to set your budget and the length of the campaign. Then, you’ll choose your audience. Some of the audience demographics Facebook allows you to target include location, age, gender, education, and interests.

Photo, slideshow, video, carousel, and Stories offer the best opportunities for you to showcase your products, services, upcoming events, and anything else that you want to promote. When crafting the text for your ad, it’s important to keep three things in mind: be straightforward, concise, and personal. Staying compassionate while being direct will help your ads get more engagement.
