Funeral Homes to Help Families with COVID-Related Death Claims
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is allowing people to claim up to $9,000 if they paid for the funeral of a loved one who died of COVID-19. Since there are specific documents required, Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes in Lansing, Michigan is educating families on the application process. Sunset Funeral Homes & Cremation Center, with multiple Illinois locations, also said they’re helping families with the application process.

Marlan Gary — the owner of Marlan Gary Funeral Home, The Chapel of Peace in Columbus, Ohio — is the new owner of Williams Funeral Services in Mansfield, Ohio since the former owners are retiring.

Piasecki Funeral Home in Kenosha, Wisconsin plans to build a new building if the project is approved in May. They plan to use the new building for meeting with families for grief counseling, as well as storing their hearses.
