A new Middletown, Ohio, funeral home is continuing a 60-year family tradition of serving the community. Donald Jordan, Jr. will open the new Donald Jordan Memorial Chapel to preserve his father’s legacy that began at the Hall-Jordan & Pretty Memorial Chapel in Middletown.

Crotty Funeral Home Comforts Families with Libby, a Golden Doodle

Crotty Funeral Home of Belton, Texas, wants guests to be as comfortable as possible. That’s why they enrolled Libby, a mix between a golden retriever and poodle, in Therapy Dog training. Libby is expected to be fully certified by her first birthday.

Santa Barbara Funeral Home Honors Deceased at Annual Event

McDermott-Crockett Mortuary in Santa Barbara California held its 4th annual “Hearts of Compassion” ceremony. The ceremony honored 29 deceased individuals who had no family or friends, including a few veterans.

Oklahoma Funeral Home Honored

The family-owned Hersman-Nichols Funeral Home in Wagoner, Oklahoma, was recently honored by the Wagoner Area Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber of Commerce presented the funeral home with the Business of the Month award for June.

Renovations at Texas Funeral Chapel

New renovations are coming to the Rosewood Funeral Chapel. These renovations will help make funerals feel more like a celebration of life. Renovations will include modern updates to the interior, adding new furniture, creating a multipurpose event room, and adding modern lighting.

Edwards Funeral Home Gets New Owner

One of the longest-running funeral homes in Kingston, North Carolina, is under new ownership. Edwards Funeral Home & Cremations was sold to funeral director Justin Smith. Smith told the community that he will be making new additions to the funeral home’s list of services, including webcasting and cremation services.

Veteran & Funeral Director Receives Honorary Diploma

Carl Seymour, who opened the Seymour Funeral Home in Potsdam, New York, in 1961, is finally receiving his high school diploma. Seymour had left Harrisville High School in 1944 to enlist in the U.S. Navy (he was just 16 at the time, but reportedly lied about his age). After serving in WW2, Seymour returned home and studied at Simmons School of Mortuary Science and became a licensed funeral director.
