Hi, I’m Samantha Ward, and I’m the marketing manager here at Frazer Consultants. Today I want to talk to you about paid search advertising and how your funeral home can use and benefit from it. Many search engines, like Bing and Yahoo, support paid search campaigns. But for the purpose of this video, we’re going to focus on Google AdWords, because that’s the most popular one.

So, what is paid search advertising? At its core, it’s a really simple concept. It’s when a business pays to have their website at or near the top of the search results. Paid search advertising, or pay-per-click advertising, can be a dynamic tool for your funeral home.

Paid search enhances your online presence and increases the traffic to your website. Tailoring your ads to specific counties, regions, zip codes, or cities can help you target specific audiences. Pay-per-click advertisements like these can increase your brand awareness by 80%.

One of the most important parts of your paid search campaign is the keywords that you use. Keywords are words or phrases that you use in your campaign to show up in a search result for that keyword. The keywords that you choose for your ad campaigns helps Google determine when and where your ads show up. For example, if you’re a funeral home in Madison, Wisconsin, the keywords that you might choose would be “funeral home,” “Madison,” and “Wisconsin.”

Another key part of your search campaign is your budget. AdWords offers flexible budget options, and with a well-optimized budget, you can reach more people for less money. With AdWords, you can budget by month, but even break it down to how much you want to spend per day or even per hour. This means that you can spread your spending out and use more of your budget when your ads will be the most effective.

AdWords lets you track and measure your results so that you can see how effective your campaigns were. You can even link your Google AdWords account to your Google Analytics account to get even more great information.
