With social distancing being the new normal, more families are having private services that are limited to immediate family. Or, some families are postponing the funeral service altogether. Either way, this leads to no service information entered on their obituary.

However, if you don’t provide a service or family address, flower orders may be delayed or undeliverable. That’s why it’s so important that you enter an address, even if the event is private or there isn’t a service.

With our Private Event tool, you can enter a service address without displaying it publicly. Then, your staff can still see it as an upcoming event. If there isn’t a service, you can enter the family’s address for flower delivery purposes only. This way, families can conveniently order flowers directly from their loved one’s Tribute Wall to show their support from afar.

Below is how this Private Event tool works and why it’s crucial for completing flower deliveries and keeping track of your upcoming services.

How Do You Use the Private Event Tool?

When creating the obituary in your admin panel, all you need to do is check the box next to Private Event to make it private, as shown below. This means that the service address won’t appear on their loved one’s Tribute Wall. In Tribute Store, families can just see the event date as a flower delivery option, but it won’t disclose the service location or time.

This way, you can ensure flower deliveries are sent to the service location without displaying the information publicly. It also makes it easier for your staff to track and update your upcoming services.

What If There Isn’t a Service?

If there isn’t a service, you should fill out the Family Address section when creating the obituary. It’s important to note that this is solely for flower deliveries and is NEVER displayed publicly. This way, if there isn’t a service, flowers can be delivered directly to the family’s home.
