Dogs and humans share a special bond, which is why so many funeral homes are beginning to get grief therapy dogs. These specially trained dogs help people cope with grief by lowering their stress, boosting their mood, and offering comfort. That’s why we regularly feature grief therapy dogs on our Instagram account!

Since it’s Pet Appreciation Week, we wanted to highlight the grief therapy dogs we have featured so far. We thank them for the comfort they provide to grieving families.

Lola is a three-year-old golden doodle that’s currently training to be a therapy dog. She loves playing with her brother, running in the park, and greeting the funeral home’s visitors!

Libby is a certified therapy dog ready to serve her community. She is available for funeral services and local school and community events. She spends her time off swimming, going on walks, and chewing her bone.

Casper from Haskell Funeral Homes

Casper is a golden doodle at Haskell Funeral & Cremation Services. Going on walks, meeting new people, and having off-leash time are his favorite things! Along with helping out at his funeral home, he visits a nursing home once a month.

Pancake is a fluffy boy who enjoys walks, naps, and greeting families at the front door of the funeral home!

Aunt Bea is a comfort dog in training. Though she’s only six months old, she’s already providing comfort and love to those who need it most.
